I am so tired of the streets department. During the winter they don't clear my street of snow. They wait for it to melt and then they tell me they have cleared it. Now today I received a warning to set out my recycling. The story goes back about 3 months. They didn't bother picking up my recycling for 3 weeks. I called and called. Finally they sent a garbage truck over (not a recycling truck). The threw the recycling in with everything else (something they do about once every two months, or once every four times). I called and complained about that having to leave a voice mail (something you have to do with this streets department). I called and told the assistant that I wasn't happy and why. She told me that it wasn't her fault and that "no" I couldn't speak to the person in charge. After the 3rd phone call I believed they would return my call. They never have. Since then we have not put out our recycling but every now and then. There is no common sense in the Streets Department. I am tired of this. I have also seen the garbage men/women drinking in the cab of the truck in the past (about the time they got busted for being at the strip clubs instead of picking up garbage). I called them today. Received voice mail only as usual. If anyone in the city government is listening please do something about this department.
